Appearance: Light gold body, good clarity with a white head and good lacing.
Smell: A nice, fresh herbal note mingled with lime-tinged citrus amongst grainy pils malts.
Taste: Pils malt, crackling graininess with a scant doughy element and brush of light malty sweetness. Herbal, citrus hops with a cleansing bitterness. Finishes just dry, lightly grainy with a final hint of zippy suds.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation with a bit of zip to it.
Overall: Pretty solid.

Appearance: Brilliant clear gold. Frothy white head with very good retention. Slow rising bubbles.
Aroma: Hoppy - Lemon/lime like citrus fruit notes.
Flavor: Hoppy - Lemon/lime notes. Moderate to high bitterness that is prominent and lingers well into aftertaste. Malt flavor very low and hidden behind hops. Bitterness borders on harsh.
Mouthfeel: Medium body. Drying. Effervescent carbonation. Moderate length finish that is clean and snappy with trailing bitterness well after the finish. Not particularly smooth or soft.
Overall: Reviewing vs NZ Pils. A snappy, crisp clean pilsner that shows off Motueka hops character. A hoppy pilsner with lemon/lime like aroma and flavor. Very dry. Quite bitter. Bitterness builds as you drink. Has a medium body and high carbonation. Moderate length finish that is clean and crisp with a lengthy bitterness that extends the finish. A good representation of the style except it runs right up to and over the line of bitterness and astringency. It lacks a smoothness or softness in the mouthfeel and flavor that would make it much more enjoyable. It is definitely a more unique pilsner that really gives you the full characteristics of the Motueka hops. Nicely crafted beer but lacks a bit of invitingness.
