"Apple of my Pie” is our first beer/cider hybrid. It is a Belgian Quad base with brown sugar. We crushed and pressed 4.5 lbs per gal of Jonagold and Mutsu apples. We got these beautiful apples from Mick Klug Farm in St. Joseph, MI. This beer is the perfect winter warmer!! Slightly boozy, spicy and sweet.

Pours a nearly clear golden color and sports a sudsy khaki colored head that provides a nice little ring around the body of the beer. Beautiful quad.

The nose is a nice mix of the brown sugar that is a sort of spicy candy apple, and that is also where the taste lands, with a nice little boozy finish. Delicious.

The mouthfeel is full and a little brighter than expected with a quad. Still, this is a fun ride and an interesting take on the quad style that I’d gladly try again.

Released 12/17/21; drank 11/27/22 @ the Family Compound.

Cloudy dull orange/purple appearance.

An even pour yielded a HUGE eggshell head; frothy lace.

Apple pie, mild booze heat & faint candle wax notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Sweet apple, candle wax & booze heat flavors.

Boozy & sweet, but overall nice enough.
