This is the same exact recipe as Speakeasys Cream Ale but with an added infusion of apricot extract. The apricot flavor is abundant and appealing and the smell of fresh apricot leaps from the glass.
Visually, Apricot Ale looks much like a conventional pale ale. It is light golden and mostly clear with a thready head, trace carbonation, and good lace.
The flavor of apricot really is refreshing and this beer would make for a nice dessert ale or summer cool off. Be forewarned though: Speakeasys Apricot Ale was last brewed around April 2004 by the previous brewer and is presently limited to stock on hand. It will probably be discontinued when and if the Speakeasy resumes brewing.
