Vibrations, my version on the New England IPA. This is a single IPA, not an oated to the max lactose bomb. Just a simple, clean, bright, and soft IPA with tons of flavor. You can crush these. That’s what it was made for. Each Vibrations will focus on a single hop. In this version we explore Citra.

Canned on 2/23/22; consumed on 3/12/22
Pours an opaque, dark golden orange body capped with two fingers of fluffy, white foam; solid head retention yields a half-finger of creamy cap, moderate, frothy collar, and a comprehensive spatter of spotty/webby lacing around the walls of the glass.
Aroma opens to candied lemon peel and grassy resins upfront, soon coated with creamy mango and an invigorating orange zest accented with young basil leaf; passionfruit brightness meets a distant tinge of lime zest, while grassy spice lingers through the olfactories on the close.
Taste shows slight lemon peel underscoring dank white grape dominating into the mid-palate; musty tangerine expands to sweeter orange sorbet, with deepening tropics of mango peel finding a tinge of grassy spice on the finish.
Mouthfeel brings a medium body with moderate carbonation leaving an extended prickle into the mid-palate as a creamy backing subdues a distant bitterness against a vague hop twang into the back end and a juicy brightness closes with level, resinous grit on the finish.
An understated coating of dank, tropical resins breeds subtle depth and juicy texture, imparting a comprehensive display of lively zest and waves of flavor while maintaining a pillowy, approachable level of drinkability throughout; a casually impressive all-around display for the style.

A: The beer is very hazy pale whitish yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a wide collar and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of gooseberry and lime are present in the nose along with notes of lychee.
T: The taste has flavors of lime citrus along with underlying notes of lychee.
M: It feels medium-bodied and juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this IPA to work very well as a single hop beer.
Serving type: can
