Rich Amber bock beer brewed with imported Munich and Pilsner Malts and fermented with a rare lager yeast. This beer has a deep malt character and body with a hint of toffee in the aroma. The Noble hops balance the richness of the malts and provide a complex profile that hides the 7% abv.

A heavy tilt and the contents of a pint can ended up inside a clear glass Imperial pint mug. Generously providing an off-white head, the brew is burnt orange dark amber. Moderately cloudy, it remains bright. It smells honey sweet without much malt, nor hop character. Sweet it is to taste, but it's a full malty taste. There's even some decent hop flavor to balance it out. It closes out with a nice drying earthy bite. The glass lacing is mediocre, showing just slight gradations. The feel is right for the style, with a smooth and supple body carrying a wet delivery. This is a very good American maibock.

Pours a vrilliant and beautiful, golden amber in color, topped with a rocky, pale tan (“khaki”) head.
Caramel malts and precious little in the way of assertive hop presence on the nose. Lighter biscuit notes.
SMOOTH…. And lightly sweet overall, well-hiding the 7% ABV (which, granted, isn’t much nowadays, but for some of us old school lager3rdz it is!).
Just a touch of hop but on the backend, but the smooth, malt-bombness of this one is probably being accentuated by the passage of time since it was first canned.
Bready, malty, and BIG… it’s the summery sort of Bock that you’d expect come May First, and an excellent American rendition of the style.

Thanks to MacMalt for this Jersey gem.
Pours a deep ruddy amber to brown in hue. Off-white foam caps her off at 2 fingers. Great retention. Slight lacing.
Aromas of lightly sweet brown bread, subtle caramel malt, floral noble hops, and then back to the malts which now hint at a toastiness.
Taste is sweet first. Again the caramel malt note comes in. But also ever so slight roasted grain, a mild hint of fruit, & some peppery/herbal hop notes.
Mouthfeel is oh so smooth, light carbonation, finish is a gentle tapering off of the sweets with a mild herbal/peppery note that gives way to a slight drying finish.
Overall, the malts are the star of the show, but I love the depth and subtlety of the hops.

Crisp, drinkable, and sweet, this really reminded me of German-brewed Maibocks, nailing the style expression I expected. The 7% ABV is super sneaky, as the crisp mouthfeel and good balance make this one go down very, very quickly. There's a slightly buttery note, accentuated as the brew warms. It could use a touch more bitterness to take the balance even higher, but I enjoyed the subdued hop presence and emphasis on the malt profile.

On tap at Cloverleaf Tavern in Caldwell. Pours a copper, ruddy hue with minimal frothing. Mellow aroma replete with hints of caramel and clove. Similar overall flavor profile. Recommended.

Classic rendition of a German Maibock courtesy of the boys of Raamstein. Malty but balanced, getting a lot of biscuit notes, hay on the nose. Could drink a ton of this. Well done Maibock that I will be trying to get on the regular.

2017 vintage. Poured from 32 oz. growler into Ramstein pint glass. It pours a clear, honey-amber color with one finger of milk-white head and lacing. It smells of bready malt, banana, clove, floral hops, and a whiff of toffee. The taste is sweeter than the smell with lots of bready malt, toffee,, and a hint of honey. It finishes dry, smooth, and slightly bitter. It's fairly light in body with pleasant carbonation, and it is very drinkable with a manageable ABV of 7%. Overall, it's a very nice rendition of the Maibock style. Ramstein is very good at brewing authentic German beers, and its Maibock is no exception. Prost!

It definitely has hints of a lager. It looks like a lager in its color and complexity. Overall it is definitely a good feel and delicious taste!
