I had to place this beer in the fruit category as the brewer isn’t making a true stout. He is placing true cacao seeds to achieve the dark unsweetened chocolate flavors. The appearance of this beer is like a pinkish gold pale ale.
The smell has coffee aromas and then raspberry notes, defying the “look” of the beer. The smell is strong and a bit confusing.
The raspberry is more prominent in the taste, but the coffee flavors are present. Neutral body and carbonation level. The finish is more sweet than bitter with raspberry standing out strongly. Overall, this is an oddity that is worth seeking out
