500ml bottle with silver pressure cap.
poured into SP logo Charente glass.
Appearance: Golden - orange colored body. Bone white head. The head stacks up very tall with many tiny compact bubbles. Good staying power in the head.
Smell: Fruity and dry red wine. Oak barrel and brett funk.
Taste: Tastes the same as the smell. Red wine that has a light fruity note, but it predominately nails that Pinot Noir note very well. Earthy and coweb / dusty basement funk. Nice oak note. Straw/hay malts as well. All is balanced and delicous here.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied beer with higher carbonation levels. The beer is actually soft and delicate with a creamy body that has a lightly dry finish.
Overall: I picked up this bottle on a whim at the Indeed taproom in Milwaukee despite the low scores on Untappd(no one has added this beer to beeradvocate until I did today). The description sounded amazing, so I pulled the trigger and I am really happy I did. This beer is hard to find any flaws in it at all. It's really delicious & well done. I would drink this all summer with meals or while grilling. It's definitely worthy of hype & fanfare, but it won't get much because it's a table beer at the end of the day.
Brett + red wine barrel aging + table beer = awesome.
