For this new variation in our Lost Leaf series we let a portion of the original mature in neutral wine barrels. The result is a complex and barrel forward pale lager. Lost Leaf Oak pours with light chill haze and is loaded with white wine/chardonnay on the nose followed up with a silky full mouthfeel. The barrel imparts impressions of vanilla and oak, with light citrus flavors.

16.9 oz bottle.

Cloudy pale gold in color. Has a nice fluffy white head. Great retention and lacing.

The aroma has strong oak and vanilla notes, as well as white grape juice, pear, stone fruit, and yeasty sweet bread.

The flavor follows the nose with a significant amount of oak chips and vanilla, then some grape juice, pear, apple, and tangerine with plenty of bready yeast.

The feel is medium bodied with pretty good carbonation. Creamy, while also being nicely crisp. Drinkable, yet goes down like a far bigger beer.

Overall, this is a great oak aged lager. At only 5.3% you wouldn't expect this much body and flavor, but here it is. Lots of fruity esters balanced out by the earthy oak. Has a good amount of vanilla character throughout. Great beer.

A: Pours a copper color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a nice cap that leaves good lacing

S: A good bit of fruitiness up front along with some pale lager yeast and some bread. Apple, pear, and grape jump out. Very light oak as well

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the fruitiness and bread, followed by some earthy hops and oak. Finishes with lingering fruitiness and earthy tones

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A very well done oak aged lager that is extremely balanced and easy to drink. Definitely mellowed out in a good way compared to the base which aids in drinkability and in general. Definitely worth checking out
