cool beer, sturdy and crisp, not quite an india pale lager, but certainly moving in that direction, a little stronger than expected too, but clean and well executed. blonde and sunny and bright in the glass, good inch of white head on it, looks pure and simple and bubbly, and it smells fresh and fairly potent on the hops both in terms of botanical intensity and also bitterness, would be curious what hops are in the mix here. its grassy up front, hints of lime leaf and citrus pith in the middle, and almost noble spicy and relatively bitter later, quick and dry but a fast flow, this has some movement which i love, and its very fresh, hop forward without losing the base beer, pils malt and a close to neutral ferment, but there is a ton of personality here despite its relative ease. there is some breadiness here, as well as a flattering minerality, and the bitterness is not out of place at all, fine balance. peppy carbonation and a fast finish, more summery than wintery to me, but a beer thats really always in season. maybe a little potent on the hops as it warms, but i dig it. hudl doesnt seem to get much chatter out of their immediate home market, but i think they are making some very relevant beers, and there is quite a lot of diversity in what they do. i like how clean this is, very refreshing.
