West Coast IPA
Bursting with aromas of stone fruit, dark berries and lemon citrus with floral notes from the combination of Mosaic, El Dorado and Cascade hops – finishing with a pleasant bitterness from the Chinook hops

I bought 2 cans at the LCBO in Ontario Canada 473ml at 6.6%.
Poured into glass with a 2 finger head leaving a lace as you drink it.
Lots of tropical fruit flavors with a medium bitterness level.
Overall a good west coast IPA beer .
Cheers

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Mar 6 2024 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a clear medium golden colour, generating at least two fingers of billowing, soapy white head that lasts for the better part of five minutes. It leaves behind a lovely curtain of lace as it's reduced to a creamy collar surrounding a filmy cap; looks fine so far. I'm getting grapefruit, mandarin orange and piney, floral hops on the nose, with hints of pear and resin.
It's a pretty nice IPA, with hints of wheaty, bready malts overlain by classic West Coast hop flavours. Grapefruit, orange and pineapple, with just a hint of juicy pear & stone fruit, transitioning to piney, floral hops and resiny bitterness at the tail end of the sip. The aftertaste is citrusy and mildly fruity, with lingering hop resin. Medium in body, with slightly assertive carbonation that prickles the palate gently, contributing to a relatively smooth mouthfeel. I finished my glass easily enough, and wouldn't have minded another, but this IPA is a little too strong and bitter to stick with all night.
Final Grade: 3.81, a worthy B+. I haven't tried all that many brews from Canvas, but Thunderhead is easily my favourite one so far. That's partially my own bias at work: West Coast IPAs are basically my favourite kind of IPA, and this one's hop profile is right up my alley - but Canvas deserves plenty of credit for putting together such a fine strong pale ale. I would buy this again, and would encourage BAs with a penchant for old school IPAs to give it a try as well.

Pours a very clean deep straw gold with ample head that sticks around a good while. Light lacing as the beer is enjoyed.
Aromas of pine and grapefruit jump out of the glass. The tiniest hint of some dankness makes itself known.
Taste follows closely. Pine, grapefruit pith, some herbal grassy notes as well and just a touch of dank on the finish.
Medium bodied with some rather vigorous carbonation.
This was surprisingly good.
