473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Sep 26 2023 and served slightly chilled.
Pours hazy and translucent, its apricot golden-hued body fitted with more than an inch of foamy white head that lasts for a little over five minutes. A beautiful coat of arcing lace adheres to the glass, with a tight, creamy collar and sudsy cap holding steady. Aromatically mediocre, offering up grassy, floral hop notes and cereal grains, as well as some muted tropical fruitiness - passion fruit and pineapple, maybe?
Its flavours are fine, although 'juicy' might be an exaggeration. I'm getting light mango and grapefruit, joined by hints of doughy malts and berries by mid-sip. It finishes with floral hops and some earthy bitterness; maybe a flash of pine needles, too, followed by a mildly fruity, weakly bitter aftertaste that dissipates within a moment or two. Medium in body, with gentle carbonation that softly nudges against the surface of the palate, contributing to this brew's smooth, slightly slick mouthfeel.
Final Grade: 3.65, a serviceable B grade. Horizon ain't half bad, but in a sea of similar pale ales, this one simply blends right in - I honestly don't think I'll remember this a few months from now. Maybe I'm being overly critical: truthfully, there is nothing at all wrong with this beer, but I think it's fair to say that there's nothing particularly notable, either. I wouldn't rule out a revisit at some point in the future, but it's low priority (and also not available locally anyhow) - it's worth a try, but don't go out of your way.

Pours gold in colour, not as hazy as the can would suggest. Large head. Bitter and hoppy on the smell. Again, hoppy and bitter on the taste but not too much. Not as tropical or juicy as some NEIPAs. That’s a good thing for me
