Explained as this most popular beer, it is obviously a “pastry cream ale” (peanut butter and marshmallow) and within that vein, it’s not too bad. Peanut butter comes through in the aroma as distinct, and fairly strong as it warms but not overpowering. Marshmallow maybe comes through as sweetness in the taste, which has a vanilla edge to it. Peanut butter, which is modest in my first sips, actually seems to weaken with warmth. This aids the marshmallow sweeter notes and while it stays short of being cloying, but it is too sweet for more than a half pour for me.
