Bearded Brewer Artisan Ales "Dream Bar Milk Stout"
$7.50/8 oz. on tap at the brewery on 23 December 2022
Notes: Listed at 10% ABV. Butterfingers candybars have been ground up and added to the regular version of the Dream Bar Milk Stout.
Look: The body is black with bits of candy floating on the surface and coating the sides of the glass. The head retention is obviously limited and there was no lacing left behind.
Smell: The candy is noticeable in the aroma but it doesn't improve it over the original version, and it then takes away from the flavor as it muddles things.
Taste: The flavor offers some dark chocolate, the alcohol, some coconut, and hints here and there of nuts and buttery Butterfinger candy. Some alcohol adds a snap and helps to balance it.
Feel: Full, velvety smooth body with a moderate carbonation.
Overall: Unfortunately the addition of the Butterfingers actually hurts what's otherwise and exceptional and charming beer.
