Collaboration with Angry Chair Brewing. We filled up a handful of specialty bourbon, cognac and peach brandy barrels with the base, then conditioned the rest on vanilla beans, cacao nibs and marshmallows.

Pours a murky deep brown thin coco colored head, no real lace.

Aroma is coco nibs, sweetness from the marshmallow and vanilla.

Taste is so one sided, shit ton of coco nibs apperantly, maybe hints of brown sugars from the BW the adjuncts definitely taking this one over. Even have to strain to taste the barrel notes, chocolate definitely goes well with the sweetness of an English BW but it covers up the subtle notes that usually make them enjoyable.

Mouthfeel is big medium, smooth mellow carbonation.

Overall as a beer nice sweet chocolate treat, as a English BW eh let's stick to sweet stouts for the adjuncts please.

Can poured into a goblet. Loads of chocolate in the taste. Fairly sweet and very smooth for what it is. Barrel does not outshine the cocoa and sweetness which is nice. Body is thicker and comparable to a pastry stout IMO. No Complaints.

16oz can into a tall glass. Freshness dating could not be deciphered.

Black body, small tan head quickly fizzes away, no lacing. Aroma of cocoa powder. Taste is strongly dark chocolate and cocoa, and quite warming. Finish is smooth, warming.

While this may have started out life as an English Barleywine, all additions and aging have stripped that away, and we are left with the look, aroma, taste, and feel of a pastry stout. As an Englishman, me sad. As a chocoholic, me very happy.
