While it's a little early for spooky stuff, I wanted to break out a ghost of sorts. This is peconic Bay breweries Captain's Haze which is an imperial New England IPA. The reason it's a ghost is the brewery closed and was replaced earlier this year. Now this particular NEIPA pours a hazy golden straw color with a mostly white head. The nose is citrus, a little sharper than orange. The initial taste matches the aroma before the hops start fighting to the front and offer a bitterness before the two merge to the end. The hop bitterness isn't the smoothest mouthfeel, but it is an imperial NEIPA. It's certainly not bad, and I'm thankful my other half picked up a few cans before they closed.
