Say hello to deliciousness. YUP! is 355 mL of award winning light lager at only 100 calories a can and a $1.85 all in. Wow. How do we do it? We don't mess around.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 355mL in a pint glass. From my favourite The Beer Store on Goyeau St. in nearby downtown Windsor. My first beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery.

Poured a 355ml can into a pint glass. A one finger white head on a clear, very pale yellow. The head diminishes to a thin layer. Some patchy lacing.
Some corn an malts in the nose.
Light body and moderate carbonation.
Not bad for a sub $2 beer.

This tastes a helluva lot better than a light lager has any right to. It's really well made, local, and cheap as all get out (for Ontario) at $1.85 a pop, too.

355 mL can from Superstore; best before Sept 4 2021 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a lightly fogged golden-yellow colour, initially topped with more than a finger of soapy, foamy white head that falls apart within two or three minutes' time. A bubbly collar of suds remains in place, with a few strands of stringy lacing tossed about in its wake - looks good for a light beer, but the aroma is practically non-existent. Faint whispers of dough and grain husk are the only things I'm sensing - though, at the very least, it does smell clean and fresh.

Tastes pretty plain, but that's hardly a deal-breaker for the style. Grainy sweetness, crackery pale malts and grain husks, concluding with a faint hint of grassy, vaguely leafy hops and a grainy, corny note persisting briefly into the aftertaste before drying out. Light in body, with spritzy carbonation that feels lively on the tongue, giving a nice, crisp bite with each sip; a bit of a palate scrubber. Pounding back several of these in a row would be no trouble at all.

Final Grade: 3.3, just barely making the cut for a B-. Yup! Light is about as dull as craft beer gets - but at $1.85 per can, it's also about as affordable as craft beer gets, at least in this province. If you're looking for a basic, no-frills, low-cal lager to swill this summer, you could certainly do far worse than this. I don't expect to be drinking it on a regular basis, but I don't think beer-reviewing dorks such as myself are really the target audience here. Cheers to another Victoria Day weekend!
