Had on tap at Precarious Beer Project in Colonial Williamsburg. Happy to try out a smoked barleywine.
Beautiful slightly burnt orange, ruby red and dark cherry colored brew ( varied with turning to light). Decent creamy off white head with lingering lace and thin halo. Nose was subdued but noted for Smokey malt and hints of hops. Taste really came out with about 20 minutes warming. But came across more rauchbier vs barleywine. Body mirrored being a bit thin. Overall a nice beer. Glad I tried.
