473 mL can from a Stockyards IPA mixed pack purchased at the LCBO; dated Mar 6 2024 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a hazy pale golden-yellow colour, generating at least two fingers of lumpy, foamy, delicate white head that holds together for more than five minutes. Gobs of sticky lace grace the glass in a gorgeous mess, with an ample collar and cap of soapy suds lasting on - this is just a really attractive pale ale. The aroma is fruity, offering up notes of orange, pineapple, grapefruit and passion fruit; minor hints of peach and cereal grain maltiness.

Mellow flavour profile that I'd describe as fruity & a little juicy, but definitely not very bitter. The flavours are a blend of orange juice, pineapple, apricot, kiwi and passion fruit, concluding with an aftertaste of stone fruit and citrus that quickly fades to dry. Medium-light in body, with mild carbonation and tiny bubbles that weakly agitate the surface of the palate. Surprisingly drinkable and refreshing for 6.5%, but one or two servings per night would be my maximum.

Final Grade: 3.93, a B+. Stockyards' Shattered Mirror gives the whole stage to its Galaxy hops, which thankfully manage to put on a reasonably impressive show. I'm not sure that I can call this an 'exciting' beer or even an especially amazing IPA, but it's brewed well and does a bang-up job of displaying what Galaxy is all about, i.e. fruity hop goodness. It's worthy of a firm recommendation: probably the best beer in this mixed pack, though their flagship Iron Horse Trail is also a worthwhile tipple.

On tap at the brewery: pours a clouded pale gold with a tight bone white 2 finger cap...lush fruit aromas, Mango, pineapple, with musty malty under tones....light bodied hoppy..flavor has light complexity of fruits, pine, sour Kiwi and bready...goes bitter and dry in the finish....amazingly satisfying ale for being so light effervescent and puckering dry on the palate...nice quencher...hope they have it available more often
