473 mL can from the LCBO; dated May 30 2024 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy pale yellow colour with fine sediment strewn throughout its complexion. More than two fingers of soapy, lumpy white head erupts from the surface, lasting for more than five minutes; an arcing pattern of lovely lace is painted onto the glass, with a rocky cap and frothy collar lingering on. Looks amazing. Plenty of lime on the nose, with a gritty, corny cereal grain sweetness also coming through; just a hint of sea spray, too.
It's a tasty lager, but that's largely because of the addition of lime juice, which dominates the flavour profile. Hints of grainy malts and corn chip sweetness provide some actual 'beer' flavour mid-sip, with salt and lime zest at the finish. Corny aftertaste with lingering limey-ness - reminds me of Trix cereal, which I have not had in a long time (because unlike beer, Trix is strictly for kids). Light in body, with pointed carbonation that continuously agitates the surface of the palate, remaining active throughout the session. Excellent drinkability - I could easily pound several of these back on a Saturday night in the summer.
Final Grade: 3.68, a B grade. Reunión is, in essence, the craft equivalent of a light lime lager. It makes more sense to compare this to Bud Light Lime vs. Corona or Modelo, at least IMO - the lime pretty much steals the show, with the underlying lager being there mostly for structural support. It's an overdone concept, rendered exceptionally well. I'd encourage anyone who has enjoyed a light lime lager in the past to seek out this Stockyards lager and try it for themselves. I might even buy some more, if I can find it locally. Cheers!

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, from my favourite LCBO at The Roundhouse Centre in nearby Windsor. My first beer from the Kitchener, ON brewery.
