Not horrible, but not great either.
This brewery is known for its various IPAs, so seeing a Hopfenpils Lagerbier in their lineup was exciting. My excitement was short-lived, unfortunately.
I loved its gorgeous golden color and a very pronounced bitter hop bite at the end. A very nice feel, not a thin watered-down mass-produced lager piss.
I absolutely hated the fruity aroma and a horrendous meloney taste of the first few sips.
It's probably an easy fix, just use better, cleaner hops. Not that modern frou frou BS.
Anyway, good to know there was an effort.
