Appearance - The beer was dark black with a slight head.
Smell - The beer had a malty coffee-like nose.
Taste - Even with a light body, the profile had a strong coffee presence. There was a bit of sweetness before the dry chocolate finish.
Mouthfeel The beer was light bodied with strong carbonation.
Overall - A really nice version of the style.

Can from Ale Arsenal
Whoa, this is stupendous. Loads of roast on a light body with just enough dark brown sugar, dark chocolate,, toasted wheat,, chicory and some earth. Lovely, soft, doughy malt. Layered flavors, lovingly integrated. Gentle hops. Truly delightful mouthfeel, soft, light yet with a bit of a bitter heft.

Pours pitch black in the glass, with an inch thick layer of foam on top. Prominent roast on the nose, all coffee and cigarette but in the best possible way. The sip follows, with a drying French roast press pot touch of bacon and dark chocolate note. Long drying finish rounds it out.

Sweet roasty toasty chocolate malty, bready-biscuity, and hint of roasty coffee nose on this one! Taste follows with a wonderfully balanced chocolate roast and brown bready finish. So smooth and soft...darn near Death & Taxes level! Wow!
