Kvass style ale brewed in collaboration with Phoenix Bakehouse. Using Phoenix Bakehouse rye bread in the mash and Wilk Apiary honey from our own LIC hive, this beer is fermented using Phoenix Bakehouse’s sour dough yeast. Tart with a subtle rye and clove spiciness this Kvass has a soft and subtle mouthfeel with hints of peach and apricot.

On-tap at Big aLICe Brewing, Long Island City, NY

A: The beer is hazy amber yellow in color. It poured with a narrow collar of white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of sourness are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has some sourness with notes of yeast.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer seems to be a little more drinkable compared to others in the style. I liked the sourness.
