2024 vintage; consumed on 7/1/2025
Pours an oily, reddish-black body capped with just over a finger of pale khaki foam; decent head retention leaves a spotty cap, slight, frothy collar, and minimal-no lacing holding to the walls of the glass.
Aroma offers raisins and toffee brittle accented with brûléed sugar upfront, with caramel apple notes underscoring as sparks of charry oak linger.
Taste brings waves of toffee and gentler tones of caramel to the forefront; barrel char levies rounded oakiness through the mid-palate as subtly sweet dark fruit, burnt sugar, and touches of leather mark the back end of the profile.
Mouthfeel shows a medium body and a lower carbonation, leaving a subtle weight phasing into dense, silky textures over the mid-palate and an increasing warmth accompanying mild dryness through the finish.
Immense yet refined sugars espouse a pervasive caramel/toffee interplay as a steady barrel presence cuts through to balance; the Little Cottage barrel program remains a model of consistency.
