I'm a big ESB fan and this one fills the bill, but just barely. Medium head, good enough color, nice lacing and the strongest aspect, for me is the body. Taste wise the malt is and should be the strongest component. Personally I'd like a bit more sweetness.

12oz. bottle: This one is kind of a deep coppery amber, almost brown in color. The head on mine wasn't too big, and went down rather quickly. A little bit of a caramel aroma with the hops. The flavor is a good balance of medium malt body and slightly piney hops. Fairly decent.

Poured a very dark copper, almost brown, strangely dark for the style though with a nice shiny sheen to it. Had a very thin head propped up by a surprising amount of carbonation, as well as fair lacing and stain.
Smelled of fruity malt with a strong nutty wash over it, accompanied by a strong caramelized sugar scent. No classic esters of the yeast used for bitters and no hop aromas. Taste was freshly bitter of a striking mix: floral, acidic, and dark spice tones create the bitter portion. Had a malt flavlor of an amber consistency: neither roasted nor pale but a faintly sweetish in-between flavor. Slid quickly into a long salty and hop-leafy finish, not very British tasting but instead similar to whats found in an american pale ale. Too green and un-refined for an ESB and overtakes in length and strength the decent palette of flavors before it. Fair mouthfeel, falling toward a bit thick-ish.
An American-ized ESB, no thank you.

Very very dark. In fact, I'd say this is more of a brown ale color. Head forms only as patches of white mist, with a ring of head around the edges.
Aroma is a little different, with a bit of caramel. Sort of like a cross betwen a brown ale and a bitter. That's ok by me. Characteristic fruitiness, with subtle english hopping.
Flavor is malty and slightly fruity, with a touch of breadiness and enough hopping to support. Body is medium, on the heavy side of the spectrum, with mild carbonation and a long malty finish. While it probably isn't up to judging specs, I thought it was pretty damn good.

This beer as many have already noted was darker and had a big flufy head and looked good. Then there was the metalic, and tiny aspect it was very present in the malty nose, and the taste followed suit. It had a big toasted malt flavor and a good bite in bitterness but I couldn't get past the metalic taste. There wasn't much depth but beer aside from the metal was good. Well I just burped and tasted the metal in that as well. Not sure what it could come from.

Huge head came out of this one like a Belgian. It simmered down in a minute or two to a quite attractive, lacy head, but I hope nothing has been lost. One of the darkest bitters I've ever seen, a hazy dark brown. A nice, dark nutty flavor (walnuts?) pervaded by sugary sweet malts. Hops are grassy and a touch too restrained. Mouthfeel still quite carbonated despite overzealous pour. Some nice, light spiciness going on but nothing like the Curry indicated by its name. Perhaps it is meant to accompany curry? Doubtful, but if you're out there and have some curry on hand, give it a shot. The sweetness should be an unusual contrast to anything spicy. My summation though, this is not a bitter by any stretch; it's a mild or even a brown. Not an excellent one, but ok. It's certainly not bland, and that's extra points in my book.

Very dark copper colouring with limited head and minimum glass cling.
The body is a medium, murky and of limited carbonation.
The taste is definetly bitter and lingering.
There is a light malty tease in the taste as well that makes this a very interesting product.
The nose evades me...something there, almost a licorice liqueur.
Another fine product from Wagner Valley.

Poured a massive two inch head of off-white foam. Aroma was malty with a sharpe tinge of tin. Oh-oh, does not bode well. Flavor was likewise malty, with a rather blunt hops bitterness and some alcohol prominence. But there it is again - a pronounced, sharp tinny metallic bite in the aftertaste that was quite unpleasant and was the death-knell for an otherwise not-bad beer.

Very dark for an ESB, though a nice garnet brown color. Low, wispy tan head that retreated to the perimeter of my glass. It smelled like root beer, sweet and sugary with faint hints of floral hop. Taste was strangely sweet, some caramel malt and biscuity grain flavors as it warmed. Nice hop finish but mild for style all around. High drinkability marks because it is a nice session beer, and I assume by reviews, better on tap.

Deep copper color. Lumpy, sticky tan head. Leans toward the traditional British ESB with it's hefty malt character. Medium bodied. Balanced well by EK Goldings. The finish suggests a slight fruity/estery presence. Another winner for Wagner Valley IMHO.
