So far, the best beer in Belize not named Hobbs. Also helps that it comes in cans, which avoids the skunking so prevalent in clear-bottle beers here.
Look: clear, slightly amber in colour. Good head on aggressive pour, nearly disappears, slight lacing.
Smell: citrus, butterscotch and grains. Not overpowering, but not insubstantial given that most beers in Belize seem to be allergic to hops.
Mouthfeel: average to slightly creamy.
Taste: hop-forward, almost like an ale. Sour hops linger on the finish, but that may be due to my changing palate after more than three years here. (I've gotten used to adding a squirt of grapefruit juice to fake the hops—which is ironic, given how often I've bitched about US west coast IPAs seemingly trying to brew grapefruit juice.)
Overall: not bad, and miles ahead of the other lagers, most of which are adjuncts. Add 1/4 cup of +501 Stout per can of R&B and it makes a decent substitute for, say, Fat Tire Amber Ale.
Edit: the brewery ran out in early 2022 and, when it shipped again a couple of months later, the recipe had changed to something closer to their Mine beer. Until they change it back, knock off a point.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
