This was the second beer of the Memorial Day week trip out to the Midwest. Even with that passage of time, here is your very first review of said beer on this Next Glass owned website. Respect Next Glass!
Pours the industry standard kolsch yellow with the requisite chill haze. 1/3" white head. Aroma, mild kolsch like hybrid yeast smell kind of there, just like the lemony angle hop wise, its feint but it exists.
The taste was average for style, everything was subdued from the grain, yeast and hops. It was a hot afternoon on the porch and this didn't crack me as being refreshing, carbonation mouthfeel wise could have ben turned up. Give it to me in a crisp way please. There weren't really any off flavors but it drank more like a mundane generic lager than it did the specific style of kolsch. Everything vibed as being turned down to make it more palatable to a wider audience. And I get it, its a place across from the Rosemont Horizon building, they get a lot of concert event cross traffic not necessarily looking to get into the micro niche style wise.
