A classic Illinois common. It’ll make you feel like a cool summer breeze on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Easy drinkin’. Smooth, with a pinch of hops.

Third beer of the day/trip to the Midwest for Memorial Day week/Danhausen/Marquette 20th reunion.
Pours an amber color. Looks more like an amber ale than it does a pale ale, it isn't really pale. Good clarity, 1/3" off white head. its a pretty beer, just not for style.
Aroma, jeez this really lacks hops. A pinch? Like for every barrel maybe. Smells like earthy red malted barley. You're in America making a pale ale, how about some hops? Doesn't smell bad, just again, not to style. Zero dry hopping I'm thinking.
Taste is like a crossover between an English pale ale and a lightly hopped American amber ale. Flabby mouthfeel. Not crisp, not enough bitterness, just a malty amber calling itself pale. Keep the girl. Keep the beer. The midwest has often struggled with hopping, and this beer stands out as a primary example of the deficiency.
I added this beer to this Next Glass owned database today, many months after I had it. I also have supplied the first review for said beer. You're super welcome on this one, because I didn't enjoy the task.
