This is a curious fact about me and BA. Someone adds this brewery 57 months ago and then, yesterday, I am the first person to add an ale. Roulettes has 9 ales on UnTappd and 1307 Uniques with 1900+ check-ins, which tells me the market doesn't think Roulettes' brews are worth repeating. We see an even more telling pattern in their flagship, Ale BeBack. It has 598 Uniques but only 619 check-ins. I understand why so few drink this again.
While American crafters are just learning, they often coverup by leaning into the hops. Many Belgian beginners seem to sell the hops (like Roulettes here), but actually lean into the brewers sugar (like Ale Beback here.) Bottom-line: it is too sweet and no amount of hops will bring it into balance.
Roulettes' website looks like they are having fun brewing. While I'm a big fan of having fun while brewing. I'm not a big fan of having fun while you are acting like you know how to brew. The latter is what I see and taste from this bottle. I admire the Belgians and rarely trash one; but I guess I just did. (Note that I'm still generous with my Overall Hugs.)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
