I had this beer on-tap in a Becher-shaped pub glass at the brewery in Edinburgh.
Appearance: medium orange hue with a clear body and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: lightly sweet with bit of orange and grapefruit peel hops. Gentle but quite nice.
Taste: rather sweet up front with a citrus peel character and a rather bitter finish. Kind of like a sweet IPA of the old craft beer days. Not too bad; I’d say this falls close to the WCIPA tree.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: I think this beer just ends up being a bit too sweet for me for the style, but in general it’s a decent westie.
