Pours a clear, dark purplish-brown color, opaque black in the glass; very dense, light khaki-colored head, foamy and sticky, dense and creamy textured. Excellent coffee grounds and roasted malt grain nose; mocha and toffee hints. The taste builds on the smell; bold coffee and dark grain bitterness; chocolate and vanilla. Heavy body; smooth and oily; finishes with a lightly prickly dryness.
This is a most wonderful coffee stout. It balances all of the components while delivering plenty of taste complexity to tickle the palate. Pretty outstanding overall.
