a flavorful and sturdy hazy ipa here with quite the name. its murky and orange colored, relatively dense looking with a quick fading off white head and just a little bit of lace left in its wake. its fresh and flavorful, kind of the best of both worlds as its juicy and fruity and modern, but also quite bitter for a hazy one, long robust, not expertly refined to me but a good enough hop profile that i would call this one a winner anyway. the nose and taste both bring ripe peach, papaya, and cantaloupe to the party, an early start, some almost candied sweetness to the with the way the malt seems to bring out the fruitiness and extend it, and the bitterness doesnt come on to late, so this has a pretty long and dramatic evolution really, id love to know what the hops are. tangerine and grapefruit come on as it warms, and the bitterness creeps up a little bit, some resinous character and some grain body and sweetness to, so fuller feeling for its modest strength. smooth and maybe wheat based, a nice structure to it really, and the hops are bold without having burn, close to max saturation but not over the line. some oils in this, lightly weedy, decidedly fresh. we had a great visit here this time, killer service, solid appetizers, and quality hoppy beer. great little spot right in the heart of downtown for when you are over the wine thing and need some suds!
