Brewed in collaboration with Sierra Nevada Brewing Company.
A collaboration beer between Bitburger Brewery and Sierra Nevada Brewery, this lager is highlighted by a combination of American hops - Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook - paired together with ‘Siegelhopfen’ – Bitburger’s proprietary and unique hop blend that’s sourced from a farm just a few minutes from the brewery! Unique to this one-time brew, that same farm provided the Cascade hops that lends Triple Hop’d Lager its desirable floral and citrus/grapefruit profile.

Copenhagen 28/4 2020. 33 cl can from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Some green fields and the logos of Bitburger and Sierra Nevada surrounded by hop flowers on the can.
Pours unclear, golden yellow with a medium-sized white head. Settles as thin layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense. Malty sweetness with a lighter odor of citrus fruit peeking in. Pale sweet malts, caramel and grains. Hints of sweet peach. Citrus and grape fruit notes. Pretty light.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and citric with a light, sweet undercurrent. Lingers for a bit. Semi-dry finish.
Strange bedfellows - but not a very strange beer. Pretty straight forward lager beer with a light hoppy touch. Triple Hop'd seems a bit of a stretch.

Fantastic IPL! Great malt backbone with a burst of hop bitterness.

Big tight head atop a translucent body with thick bubbling. The nose is light citrus and biscuit note with a hint of grapeskin. Herbal hops are still predominant here, although there is a bit more sharpness than many for the style.
Flavor is bigger and bolder at first than I anticipated but it loses steam a little in the finish. Solid balance with a nice hop mélange that really does evoke a proper IPA. You get the broader pine and citrus along with the quenching herbal and medicinal qualities. Texture is tight and carbonated, but it works. I can definitely see the appeal, especially when in the mood for something lighter or outdoors in warm weather.

A really outstanding, and gentle....European style lager. "Triple hop'd" isn't all that hoppy...by US standards. Quite a delicious lager, imho! Leave it to the Germans!!!

A: The beer is very hazy dark yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a collar around the edge and some lacing on the surface and down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of floral and citrusy hops are present in the nose along with strong underlying notes of caramel malts.
T: The taste follows the smell and the hops only contribute a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and very clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPL has a good balance between the malts and hops.
Serving type: can

12oz can, tulip, looks like packaged 1/28/20 and best within one year.
If I didn’t know, I’d think this was one of the proliferation of hazy IPAs. Hazy sunset tones with a decent white head, some retention.
Orange slice, a little pilsner malt. It really smells a bit like a crisp hazy IPA.
Lemon zest, cracker malt, lager yeast. It’s crisp, yet juicy and full bodied. There’s a mineral bitterness in the finish.
Light to medium bodied with a pronounced fullness. Medium carbonation coupled with hop bitterness make it crisp.
Finally got my hands on this through a friend. I cut it some slack based on the age and can certainly taste the blend of American hops and German style.
