Six capital brewing Aurura, Colorado

Bbq menu and a bunch of taps including their own creations and guest taps

They offer a menu that’s focused on burgers tasty street taco kinda things

Box of a place in a shopping center, kinda grungy but busy so can’t be that bad

Several large TVs with the game on

Beer signs hung all over the walls up to the ceilings

Decent beers and tasty tacos were enjoyed, served the purpose

Decent place for beer and a bite, not for a date

Plenty of easy parking

As mentioned it was bustling when we visited, service was friendly and on point.

Worth a visit if you are in the area

Medium sized space with mostly high tops and a few low tops and outside tables. It was packed on a weekday dinner time with trivia going on. The house beers are fine, with 8 on tap to choose from. They had some food options, mainly bbq. I had pork nachos which were pretty good, and a pretzel. There wasn’t anything memorable about the place, but I had a good time.

Six Capital emerged "from the ashes" of the Peak to Peak taphouse in 2021. Unlike most small breweries in the area, they're a true brewpub with an equal focus on food and beer.

The food focuses primarily on BBQ. They have smoked brisket, pork, chicken, and jackfruit and they can dish 'em out in the form of tacos, sandwiches, sliders, or as toppings on nachos or mac & cheese. They also have wings, salads, snacks, and BBQ-themed specials most weekends. While you're typically not going to get a giant slab of meat like at many BBQ spots, the Q itself is quite good. Think of the smoked meats as a major component in most dishes, but they aren't the dish by themselves.

On the beer front, they usually have 6-10 house beers and roughly the same number of guest beers. For a small place that only recently opened, the beers are honestly really good. They always have been, too. They're clean, mostly to style, well made, and flavorful. They also have a good mix of popular modern styles (like hazy IPA's and BA stouts) and classic items like Irish red, American amber, and altbier. I've tried everything they've made thus far and have been really happy with the results. That's around 25 beers so far. The only beer they had that legitimately wasn't good actually got tossed and reformulated. A few of the beers, like their honey blonde, are among the best versions of those styles in the area. The guest beers vary a little, but they almost always have at least a mead, a cider, a gluten-free option, an NA option, and something from Launch Pad down the street.

When Six Cap opened, my hope was that they'd simply have acceptable beer and food. As it turned out, they're really good in both areas. I'm extremely grateful to have 'em nearby!

Note: the last couple years of Peak to Peak had a weird chemical "twang" to all the beers they served. Even guest taps. I have always attributed that to line cleaner or some kind of soap. A few other beer-centric places in Aurora have the same issue. Six Capital does NOT have that issue.
