Appearance: Poured with a hefty two and a half fingers of head that laced like crazy and retained exceptionally well. The body is a mostly cloudy gold that shows off ample carbonation. A little bit more cloudiness would have earned the perfect score, as it is a thing of beauty to look at.
Smell: Took some warming to come out, but even then the potency is fairly modest. Whiffs of sliced banana on plain store bought, whole wheat bread with maybe a hint of clove or allspice but it's mild.
Taste: That whole wheat bread tastes starts us off with slight notes of banana which remain as a mild earth note comes forward and then ends with a banana snap at the end.
Mouthfeel: Aftertaste is a mix of the earth and banana which works well surprisingly, the carbonation is sudsy and very well done and the transitioning, is a bit odd with how the bitterness comes in the middle, is interesting.
Drinkability: Medium bodied which for it's potency seems a bit heavy, but still incredibly refreshing and easy to drink. Despite the higher carbonation, it settles down quite well.
Final Thoughts: High hopes on the pour on this one, which while not dashed didn't quite live up to the awesome pour. That said, this was a fairly decent Hefeweizen that I'd probably buy again in a pinch.
