473 mL can from the brewery; dated Aug 4 2022 and served barely chilled.
Pours a bright, clear pale golden colour, crowned with at least an inch of puffy, foamy white head that recedes at a steady pace. Within three or four minutes, it has been reduced to a frothy collar and film, with gobs of lovely lace splattered about behind. It smells of grainy barley malts, with additional hints of apple skin, Corn Pops and straw.
This is a quality cream ale - nothing fancy here, just clean beer-y goodness. It tastes of grainy, corny cereal sweetness, with hints of biscuit bread and appleskin preceding a faint whisper of hay at the finish; this lingers briefly into a slightly corny aftertaste that trends dry. Light in body, with middling carbonation that gently brushes against the surface of the palate, adding a modest crispness to this brew's smooth, pleasing mouthfeel. Very crushable.
Final Grade: 3.72, a B grade. Liquid Gold is a better than average cream ale, and a pretty solid catch-all option to keep in the back of the fridge, e.g. as a lawnmower (leaf-raking?) beer, or for offering to visitors who would otherwise reach for a macro lager. Good stuff, worth trying - I've only sampled a handful of Black Gold beers so far, but they've been consistently decent and I'd say they're worth a detour if you're passing through Lambton.

Nice gold colour and a small rapidly disappearing head. Sweet apple-like note on the smell. Again, sweet on the taste with white wine and cider notes. Thinnish on the mouthfeel
