Tallboy from the brewpub; dated Aug 10 2022 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy golden-yellow with silty sediment hovering throughout its body; it's topped with nearly two fingers of fluffy, foamy, sparkling white head that lasts for the better part of ten minutes. It leaves behind a glorious coat of ringed, doily-patterned lace, in addition to a frothy collar and eighth-inch cap - this is a fantastic-looking glass of beer. Subtle aroma of lemon, floral hops and bready pale malt.
Mellow, approachable flavour profile with nice balance between malts and hops - notes of orange, apricot and lemon zest at the forefront, with bready, doughy pale malts not far behind. Suggestions of resin and floral, grassy hops crop up near the finish, but stone fruit and bread are what last into the mildly sweet aftertaste. Light-medium in body, with moderately low carbonation that weakly brushes against the tongue; feels smooth and slick on the palate. A breeze to swig back, and borderline sessionable at 5.3%.
Final Grade: 3.71, a serviceable B grade. I think Motor Man Pale Ale has very broad appeal: beer geeks and Bud/Molson fans alike should find this agreeable, as will anyone looking for something a little more flavourful than Black Gold's blonde ale. I doubt I'd drive out of my way for this, but if I were in Petrolia already I think I'd swing by and pick up a few more - it's a pleasant, basic 'everyman' sort of lunch pail ale that shouldn't offend the sensibilities of those who dislike hoppy, bitter ales.

Pours a light gold colour with a thick fluffy head. Grains and hops and citrus on the nose and the taste. A bit more citrusy than most Pale Ales. A bit on the sweet side also.
