Our Vienna is back from the dead. This beer was intended to be a one-off...never to be brewed again...the "Heathen Child", but we caved to the overwhelming requests to bring it back. This Vienna is on steroids! It's a cold fermented lager with Vienna malt and a touch of chocolate malt for color & flavor balance. Slightly darker and higher ABV than the traditional Vienna lager, but drinks smooth with an amazing flavor.

No date on can, into a Southern Grist dimpled mug.
Pours a rich amber with decent foam, some good lacing. Aroma is rich apple and deep, bready malt. Flavor is similar, about as heavy as you can get with no nuttiness and minimal sugars. Tons of apple and sourdough bread as well as a little hop kick, but the thick malt flavors are very forward in addition to some esters. Feel is good, quite rich for the ABV, and plenty of carbonation.
I really like this one, and need to visit Common John to see what they can do on tap. This is a really tasty Vienna lager that hits all the notes I like.
