Heavily hopped with 5 separate additions of a blend of Simcoe and Ohio Grown Comet to balance the rich character of this big malt forward beer. Notes of sweet orange and delicate pine dominate in this decidedly too quaffable ale for such strong beer.

From the 16 oz can from the brewery in a snifter. This excellent little barley wine
pours a luminous orange marmalade with a nice head of white foam that settles to
thick ring, thin layer, and displays some very nice lacing. Nose of caramel, orange zest,
grassy hops, sweet citrus hops, and pine hop notes. Flavors surpass the nose with
pine, mango, pineapple, orange zest, rich caramel, stone fruit notes of apricot,
and light breaded malts dashed with grassy hops. Mouth feel is medium, medium
light carbonation, smooth, and finishing with a bitter hop and sweet caramel note.
Overall, well balanced and highly quaffable. The brewer knows his onions
bar none!
Cheers

16 ounce can, filled 10/4/2024, thanks to Brutaltruth for picking this up on a recent trip to the brewery! Served in a snifter, the beer pours a somewhat clear amber color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, piney hops and some breadiness. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some apricot and grassy flavors. Nice hoppy barleywine! Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's creamy and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, I thought it was a good overall American style barleywine!
