Pours a very dark brown, near black, with plentiful beige foam in the tall tumbler. Light body, almost as watery as a low-ABV Stout, and spritzy on the tongue. Warm roasted malt with dark but not burnt flavors. Touch of bitter chocolate. Aroma of dark grain.
Overall, a better than average flavorful dark brew. Plenty strong. Roasty and mellow with just the right edge of bitterness. From the 32 oz crowler can filled at the brewpub in Enumclaw.
