My first Rotbier! This is a thrill for an old malt-head. But also a challenge because I like to rate to style and I have nothing to compare Rhaner's to. But, I did read the BA Style Sheet and Rhaner's is close to style.
I also went on Rhaner's website after I added this beer and copied their description (translated by Google): "Discover our handcrafted red beer, made with love and care. Select ingredients and fine specialty malts give this beer its unique character and characteristic reddish hue. A Bavarian specialty, our red beer is the official beer of the 2025 State Garden Show in Furth im Wald. Cheers! Ingredients: Rhaner spring water, barley malt, hops, yeast"
As for my short review: Looks are a pretty ruby and decent foam; Smells mostly malt; Tastes balanced by an ever slight lingering of hops; not quite Medium-mouthed, but nicely soft for a lager.
As for my good Overall Hugs for Rhaner, that's mostly for this family brewery carrying on the Bamberg tradition of rotbiers, right next to the Czech border on the mid-way to Pilzn; making a statement about dark malts and the most popular pale. Prost !

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
