I had this beer on-tap in a tumbler at the brewery in Portland.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a tiny dash of haze and a finger of creamy ivory foam atop.
Smell: a lightly toasty, lightly sweet malt that nevertheless has a nice richness. There’s a bit of a floral character too, which I like.
Taste: toasty malt with the characteristic light fruitiness and spiciness of rye. There’s also that same floral thing going on from the aroma. I like it.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: it’s hard to achieve a good balance in a rye beer, and I think they have done a very nice job here.
