simple but decent, fresh tasting on the grain side which i like in the style, but somewhat underwhelming, the least impressive of the three beers i drank on in here, but this place is new, unique, cool, and i am excited about having them in the scene there now. this should be clear but its a little cloudy, still bright looking in the glass though, frothy white headed, pale straw colored, bubbly, just some chill haze on it. the aroma and the flavor are the same, this is driven by german yeast, the fermentation profile is right but its bold, and its a little odd that this isnt drier. the malts feel fuller because its not filtered clean, i dont mind the heft, especially with this flavor boldness, but it doesnt drink as light as the style often does, still a session type, but not overly crushable either with this body. some minerals evident, lightly spicy bittering finishing hops, and wonderful carbonation. this stands out from the crowd for sure, but maybe not for the right reasons in this style. well enough made, but not expert either, and i suspect it will get more dialed in over future batches, it could stand to be a bit lighter texturally, but solid as it is now and tons to be excited about in here overall. this is a mass appeal yellow beer but it isnt boring, so thats a plus!
