Poured from a crowler into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a two finger khaki head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa, hint of raisins and coffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, bakers chocolate, light coffee and mild hop bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A pleasant American style stout that lean a bit to the dry stout style. Good chocolate and coffee notes with some mild bitterness that enhances the coffee character. Somewhat mellow in flavor, but consistent throughout the taste and with a nice chocolate and coffee lingering taste. Enjoyable.
