Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a two finger khaki head with great retention and solid lacing; looks nice. Aroma of toasted malt, citrus hops, lemon, grapefruit and mixed light stone fruit. Flavor follows, with toasted malt with a touch of char, citrus hops, lemon, grapefruit, a hints of caramel, pine and smoke. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A quite nice Cascadian IPA, with laid back, but distinct toasted malt with a bit of smoky char. Hop bill is West Coast with lots of citrus, but a little pine too. I'd like a touch more toastiness and caramel, but this is a well brewed and enjoyable version of the style, which is still too uncommon. Happily I have another, from Wayfinder in the fridge. Life is good.
