a flavorful and drinkable rye saison with a lot of life in draft format, an appreciable pale rye malt profile, and what i now consider to be an endearing house fermentation characteristic that shows up in slightly different forms in most of their beers that ive had to date, something i love about this place, defining when their beers are at their best. this is simple in some ways, complex in others, seems basic on the ingredient side, but they have done a nice job maxing out what the rye brings in an otherwise real light brew, some cracked pepper character, right out of the field freshness to it, lightly nutty, drying, rustic, maybe some wheat malt here too as the body has a puffed up feel to it. the ferment is somewhat more subtle than it is in others they make, but still that wild vibe to it that leans bretty, this one is slightly musty and even woody, but also with some saison esters in play that love the rye. i like how dry this is, how grain forward it is at the same time, and how effervescent this hits the palate, which was true of all their beers i had recently, some more than others but they all sing and dance in a nice way. this is something more likely to be found in rural belgium than rural idaho, but here we are, and i think its amazing what this place is producing. splendid warm weather saison with a lot of personality from the rye and from the yeasts.

Taster pour at NABA 2025. Hazy golden pour, small foamy white head. Yeasty aroma, biscuity. Taste is grassy, yeasty, grainy. Easy on the palate, mildly dry
