Whoa. This is really rich and deep and far exceeded expectations. The brandy barrel is deep and big, fruity, punchy, almost boozy but with just enough restraint that it doesn't overwhelm the base saison with its light brown malt, caramel, a little earth and really nice fermentation character, delicately fruity but also earthy. The palate is quite exquisite in balance, creamy, dry yet fruity, grainy, mildly citrusy and. Bright. Drying, bitter, creamy finish, spicy with a rich brandy character. Delightful.
