Half liter vom fass at the brewpub in Reutlingen. This is a really fantastic black beer and paired really well with the roasted pork dish I ordered. Heavy roasted malt character with plenty of chocolate, coffee, dank earth, and charred wood. This is approaching porter territory with a smoother body and even more drinkability. Outstanding. Could drink liters of this stuff.

Barfüßer Hausbrauerei - Reutlingen "Schwarze"
€3,30 / ,3L vom fass at the brewery on 20 September 2021
Look: Clear mahogany brown beneath a full head of dense white foam. Very good head retention and lacing. Thin rings are left with every sip.
Smell: Lightly sweet, bready, and chocolatey.
Taste: Sweetish, grainy, bready, nutty, caramelish, and chocolatey. A moderate bitterness balances it and brings it to a mild, short-lingering finish with some residual chocolate.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp with a moderate, fine-bubbled carbonation.
Overall: Remarkably flavorful and well balanced without going overboard.
