Homecoming! This celebration ale is our take on the festive October month. This beer has notes of toasted bread, apricot, and stone fruit with a sligtly dry finish. This brew is sessionable so you can make it through the homecoming weekend..or whatever else you got going on!

Undated can; drank 3/1/23 @ the Yarchives.
See-through amber appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big eggshell head; strong, frothy lace.
Wheat, soft citrus & faint pine notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Wheat, mild caramel & faint pine flavors. Mild but not bad.

Had this on-tap as part of a flight at The Pilot Project in October and just found a canned copy at Beermiscuous, my source for Chicagoland's off-beat beers. While PP's patio on a warm autumn day is hard to top, I probably prefer this canned copy as I tend to drink my marzens warmer. Bottomline: Homecoming could compete with the Bavarian masters in a few years.
Homecoming has a decent start in life because of its Looks: a clear, pretty amber and a friendly foam until the end.
This is a surprisingly good sweet lager for a North American two-year old brewer of ales. While Smells are mostly malt, Tastes balance that sweet particularly well its the semi-dry finish as the hops modify what starts as a salivating and sweet lager. Light-to-medium-mouthed and crisp. Almost a tad more IBU helps this for the North American palate (and Chicagoland distribution next year is good enough.) Homecoming's finish completes the Feel of autumn, satisfying yet girding you for winter.
At the rate Funkytown has progressed in the year since I discovered them, I won't be surprised if Homecoming's ratings jump next year in this very competitive seasonal. UnTappd has only 121 ratings that average 3.81 for Homecoming. Since I am a majority of the time .25 above the UnTappd average, it's not just me that sees the potential in Homecoming.
Prost, Bros ! C U next O-Fest... and many more times before then. Your ales even more crack the code of the masters.
1/10/23 Couldn't wait until O-fest. Just bought a 4-pack at Pilot Project. Edited the above and bumped the Taste .25. The semi-dry finish is almost there.
