Relative to the broad competition in a huge style, HHRBv2 is no big deal.
Relative to malt-heads like me who have been shy of APAs for at least four years because micros think that piling in the hops tactically can cut into the larger AIPA market, then HHRBv2 is better than what most micros are trending to brew.
And as my most important statement, v2 is improved for that narrow niche that admits to being malt-heads who would like to like APAs more.
While I like Funkytown, this brew has great color, but only slightly above average Looks; needs foam and lace to last longer. But, its Smells are from the tropics, as I remember Volume 1. Tastes are balanced; altho perhaps needs more hops for the broader market outside of my narrow malt-head niche. Refreshing and soft; hard to do and shows intent of becoming great brewers.
As for my Overall rating, I like these guys... for what they are becoming as brewers. But I do wish that the art and readability on their cans was as simple and clear as the ale inside. Cheers, Bros !
4/21/23 Had a second can. Edited the above review, increased my rating above. I'm satisfied enough to return to Volume 3.

16 fl oz. can, looks like canning date of 12/20/22. My first beer from Funkytown Brewery, another local Chicago option that was previously unbeknown to me.
Poured to clear unbranded stemware.
A: Pours a lightish golden yellowed body, slightly darker than your typical lager, with two fingers of frothy white foam for a head. Head has decent staying power, body appears well carbonated. Looks good per the style.
S: Aromas are fresh & supple. Grassy and herbal, with notes of lemon pith.
T: Bready, with good earthy herbal hop backbone, the Idaho and Belma hops work well together here. Perfectly pale, not overly bitter or hoppy like some pale ales are nowadays.
M: Feel is smooth, crisp, creamy, exceptionally easy-drinking and light-bodied. Very nice stuff with a modest 5.50% abv.
Overall, a nice introductory beer to me from this brewery, would be interested to try more from these guys. For now, check this one out if you are a fan of well-made pale ales.

Released November 2022; drank 2/27/23 @ the Yarchives.
See-through dull orange appearance; champagne bubbles throughout.
A rough pour yielded a big, noisy white head; frothy lace.
Mango soda & honey notes in the nose.
Sticky medium mouthfeel.
Mango soda, honey & dry wheat flavors.
A decent pale ale.
