16 oz can into a weizen glass.
L: Mostly cloudy grapefruit-tinged orange color with a sudsy white one-finger white head.
S: Banana and strawberry, as advertised.
T: Strawberry juice or whatever they used really comes through in the flavor; definitely noticed more than the banana and faint clove.
F: Smooth and easy-drinking

I had this on draft 8/17/23 @ Revolution's Taproom.
Mostly opaque orange/pink appearance.
Small bright white head; strong, frothy tree-rung lacing remained.
Banana, mild clove & faint strawberry notes in the nose.
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Mild strawberry & banana flavors up front; faint clove notes on the finish.
This was thin & very mild; it was pleasant, I suppose, but also instantly forgettable.

This is an official Barrel & Flow collaboration done for the Fest held in Pittsburgh earlier in August. The B&F Fest had a 2022 rendition and, overall, seems interesting; beyond just brews, but a celebration of African American crafts and, of course, music. Some 40 African-American brewers (impressive given Funkytown is the only one I've drank a lot from.) While Revolution Brewing helped with the collab , it was brewed and packaged by Pilot Project.
UnTappd lists this under Funkytown as a hefe and under Revolution as a fruit beer. You can decide on that, too. But, I'm sticking with hefe because the Funkytown listing has 1/4 more check-ins. Good of Revolution to help make this possible. Big Overall Hugs to all the collaborators.
Cold Sweat should be renamed Cool Sweat. In August, you want a cool sweat when outside. (Cold Sweat means you've overdone something, are sick or at least out-of-balance.) Related, the graphics convey Cool ( and have much improved clarity over other Funky cans.) Finally, hefes are ales and are served more Cool than cold.
Bought this can at Beermiscuous. I will get a 4-pack from Pilot Project soon. It is refreshing, particularly the strawberry. The yeast produces less banana than the Bavarian masters; but that is OK because Cool must be refreshing and is. The Feel is fine for guzzling outdoors, but a Cool hefe should be softer and have more wheat texture. Something to work on for next year's B&F.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
